Maybe that's the commissioner's intent but if I had to guess pandas eat green fresh bamboo and stalks used for construction are dried and sometimes covered in a lacquer for durability which would be like trying to eat very old beef jerry dipped in deck sealant. Buuuut you do what you got to do I guess.
