Description I've had this model for ages. Today I decided to do something with it.

So. Three colourful Chumblies on an alien world.

Yeah, not really much more to say than that. It's the Chumblies.

Doctor Who belongs to the BBC as so too, I assume, do the Chumblies. These models are mine and I assure you I probably spent as much money on them as the BBC props department did in the 60s.

Damn right! And yet... it's an effective look! The Chumblies are the second-most-talked-about Dalek Ripoff, after the Mechonoids, I think. And a very nice model! I like the ridges on the bottom two... skirts? Are they skirts? Anyways, it gives them variety.
As usual, a good job taking a cheap monster from the 60's and making them look effective!
Effective? Affective? Who knows?

I wouldn’t call the Mechonoids a ripoff, after all they DID appear mainly alongside the Dalek as well.

Galaxy Four, one of the lost First Doctor stories from the Viki and Steven run. One episode was discovered a couple of years ago, but the other three remain lost. Luckily, that episode contains plenty of chumblie action.

They look so cute! I mean, yes, they have guns, but still, look at them. A classic, weird and wonderful robot design!

Unfortunately, when I built the model, I had not appreciated that the original design also lights up and flashes. So I may have to do some revisions!

Oh well...
At least you're making art. I'm still trying to get the hang of shading spheres!

I don't know what I'm looking at. Are they Daleks?

no, their robots, their basically autonomous probes used by the rill species to speak with other creatures and interact with beings on oxygen rich worlds, their pretty much harmless unless attacked.

Well, I was staring at a set of three green ones and thought, you know what, this needs some more colour.
