Description So, for over ten years now, I have made a gingerbread house (allthough I'm using the word "house", in a rather broad context here. In the past I have made several famous churches, miniature island, and spaceships)

I've been feeling a bit under the weather, so I decided to do something simple this year, and since I just saw Spider-Man 2 again, why not make Doc Ock's fusion reactor?

Now all I need is some tritium-fudge...

That is the single most fantastic gingerbread creation I've ever seen.

... do you think if it exploded we could get liquorice/Nerd rope tentacles fusioned to our spines?

It did kinda explode. When we took it down to start eating it, the center piece gave out and pieces flew everywhere.

No-one of us got superpowers, unfortunately.

What a waste of a perfectly good explosion, eh?

Next year!

Good idea. It's a rather simple design, and easy to make.

If you do, send me a picture.

Dude, seriously epic win. I wanna make a gingerbread fusion reactor!

Lieju In reply to SilverGryphon8 [2009-12-23 08:16:23 +0000 UTC]

Then do so. This is seriously a very simple design, especially if you were to simplify the four bulkheads (?) and only make them from one part.Even if you're not experienced in gingerbread-construction, it would be easy.

And if you mess up, just cover it all with frosting and candy.

-drools a bit- Epic win. Epic sugary win.

I could never make something like this 'cause I'd start eating it before I even got halfway through Not exactly conducive to a successful gingerbread structure.

... better not show it to Otto, otherwise he'll start trying to blow up the city again...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lieju In reply to Chraelix [2009-12-23 08:25:34 +0000 UTC]

Luckily, I don't like gingerbread that much. And I know to buy a lot of excess candy for the decorations, since I'll eat most of them anyway...

Ah, but that is all a part of my master plan:

1)Build a gingerbread fusion reactor
2)Put it on the window
3)Wait for Otto
4)catch said nuclear scientist with the special octopus-catching-net

Chraelix In reply to Lieju [2009-12-23 16:36:20 +0000 UTC]

Better yet - put a package of Oreos next to the gingerbread reactor. Otto's sure to come then.

Can I help catch him?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lieju In reply to Chraelix [2009-12-23 16:44:19 +0000 UTC]

We have no Oreos here in Finland. There are cookies called "dominoes" that look kinda same, I wonder if he would be fooled by those?

But I suppose that doesn't work anymore. With all the Ock-fangirls running around he has had to learn to survive by being very careful and sneaky.

COME TO LIVE WITH ME, OCK, I'LL PROTECT YOU FROM THE FANGIRLS!

Chraelix In reply to Lieju [2009-12-23 21:44:53 +0000 UTC]

Nuuu! -tries to shove a package of Oreos through the internet but it doesn't work- Gah! That stinks big time, not having Oreos.

-snerk- He may try to be sneaky but he can't resist the Oreos. -laughs evilly- No matter how hard he may try!

That's the coolest gingerbread fusion reactor I've ever seen

How long did it take you to make it? It looks complicated.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lieju In reply to donatien1740 [2009-12-22 20:10:31 +0000 UTC]

As with models, it's kinda hard to estimate the actual time spent on the project, but I'd say two hours, maybe three. It's actually simple, with very few parts, at least compared to some of my other gingerbread works.

Now I just have to put it on the window, lay in wait, and catch Doc Ock with my special octopus-catching-net, when he comes to get it.

Lieju In reply to donatien1740 [2009-12-22 20:21:14 +0000 UTC]

Ah, but you'd need a special Birkin-catching-net. I don't think they make those anymore...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

donatien1740 In reply to Lieju [2009-12-22 20:25:02 +0000 UTC]

Damn! ... Do they still sell Annette catching nets?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lieju In reply to donatien1740 [2009-12-22 20:30:15 +0000 UTC]

I don't think they ever made special ones for that. I guess the Birkin model worked for her as well, I dunno, I'm not sure.

You could try what I did, Take a normal fishnet, and scribble to the handle with a marker: "special Doctor Octopus Catching net", except not the Doc Ock part obviously. This method has worked for me before.

*Glancing under my bed* :"Hi there, Lisa!"

I also made gingerbread cookies shaped like the Umbrella-logo...
