---------- Comment on this page ------------

- This applies for BL Harlequines ONLY
- CL horses are judged by their appearance only, so these kinds of dilutions are not possible in CL horses
- at the moment there are NO BL horses that have any dilution unless they are accredited by the OHS itself, there are currently no studs or mares with dilutions that have fullblood status, official diluted adoptables will be provided by the OHS during the next few weeks
- you can crossbred your undiluted fullblood/ approved Harlequine BL with another horse that has a certain dilution "normal" genetic inheritance rules apply then: however note that the offspring is a PARTBRED (see Breeding)
- Attention Owners of Noir or Ghede horses that have been bred before July 1st 2012. The current status of your horse is PARTBRED unless further notice/ approval.

What does it mean by "excluded" does that mean that they are not allowed in the breed?

It's like in the Warmblood world. If a horse doesn't meet the quality criteria of the breed, it will not be accepted into official studbooks, as well as their offspring. So yes, they are not allowed in the breed.

Okay, It was just a bit confusing but now I get it. Thanks!

Champagne is absolutely stunning. But it is extremely similar to Hallowquines!

Oh really? I lost track of them a while ago, I though they were Black White Orange?

that's correct, and champagne has an orange feel to it.

ah okay. THere is variation in the color so an orange hue is possible, but the color underneath does not change.

What about mares in foal before July 1? Francheskina is in foal to Beau Cauchemar and was bred in the early spring (although her slow breeder (ye artist me) only posted the breedpic last month.

What about them?

I'm wondering about the foal... it sort of sounds like there is very little chance it will be a Harlequine, but that was reason I bred her. Their breedpic is here [link] and Beau is a BL Harlequine descended from Ghede.

I just wondered because you posted the question on the dilutions page. The foal still is born after the old rules, so you can have your Harlequine foal in this case. Though this foal has currently Partbred status so itself can only pass on the Harlequine factor if it is approved by the group.

Oops, got to reading the pages and lost track of where I put my question.

Thank you. I figured the foal would most likely be a Partbred since all are descended from the founding few crossed with regularly-colored horses.

Are there regular-colored horse traits that "stack the deck" a bit in favor of a Harlequine coat color? Sort of like breeding palomino to chestnut gives better odds of a palomino.
