Description
Over the course of Mortal Kombat history, there have been a set of forgotten or rumored characters that have not seen the light of day in any game. They were either part of a leak, or they were simply a joke for publicity. Either way I decided to draw a few of them because I believe that they deserve a little more recognition, and they alone capture my interest.

There’s Aqua, one of the most Popular Mysterious Characters, known for his duckbill face, which has been remade here too look like a proper mask.

Red Robin, a character who was rumored to be in Mortal Kombat 2, and his skin was completely red. Here, his face is covered in red wrappings and has a designed inspired by one of the Red Hood Skins from the Game, Gotham Knights.

And Emerald, a mysterious female character who’s actually been an inspiration for those who created their own characters based on her and even share her namesake. Probably coincidentally named after her, but I digress.

In any case, these are just three of many mysterious or rumored characters who’ve been lost to the Mortal Kombat Mythos and I just wanted to shed some light onto each of them.

Heck, even the background of this picture is based on an unfinished stage from MK: Deadly Alliance, called “Senate of the Elder Gods”, if you can believe that.

Many things have been left out of the series and I want to see if I can bring them back somehow.

This will be my last art post for 2023, and I hope to do more next year.
