Edit 25.06.2010: since this didn't get into the semi-finals, added a signature to it.

Old enough to know that death and destruction are part of her job description, and young enough to enjoy it - that's Ryth.
I designed her to have a no-nonsense appearance with armored boots ('cause going to battle in slippers is really quite silly), gloves and a chestplate made from a magical star metal, runed soft leather covering arms and legs and billowing magical cloth that can be used as an invisibility cape at times of need and never gets dirty. Well and some belts to keep it all together when it Does get dirty from magic corruption.
And the sword is there for magicky ritual use, as well as a back-up plan. Never know when things need a good stab.
Corel Painter 9, Wacom Intuos 3, don't know nor want to know how many hours it took.

Anyone going into battle should always have a backup weapon. I'd hate having to fight someone like her. She'd distract everyone on the battlefield. Her costume is unearthly. The armor plating looks like she captured a nebulous. The sleeves look like she ground up ivory and spun it into cloth. The invisibility skirt not only doubles as a nifty weapon but looks as though it were the heavens itself. So beautiful. I can't believe this didn't make it to the semis. What's that design in the corners made up of? It looks really neat.

Thanks a lot for your lovely comment! The corner design is a snippet of the decorative arch on the staff combined with one of the spell effect circles that I've got sitting around from an older painting. The same circle is used for the effect around the fingers on her right hand.

waaah! This is definitely mind-blowing! so much attention to detail! her armor is very sensical and from what i saw is some-what different than your other art [which is good]! It looks completely professional and unique--it stands out from a lot of other artist's styles.

Thanks a lot! Since the game is done in anime style, I used it as an excuse to do something slightly different and more stylised than my usual stuff. It was a lot of fun.

Missing this submission in the final 25...'overlooked' is understatement. This aint bikini contest and like it much for that reason alone.
