its like somebody calling a black person a n***** when they really arent. a n****** is anybody who is ignorant. vs. being called emo when your not. and knowing the diffrence between real pain and sadness, compared to fake feelings of angst and sadness that have been brought on by forms of media, no I dont think mtv created emo, i think kids who are starving for attention created emo, some kids want this sence of "oh whoa is me, pitty me because i am sad" honestly, I think emo is a lame excuse for attention. and actually, its not a good kind of attention....

listen, there is this stigma, which comes with being emo, that all of us slit our wrists, and hate life, we dont. i dont want attention, ive just been given a lebal for how i dress and act. Whats up with me being called emo for wearing drainpipes and having my hair over one eye. I am a perfectly normal person, i dont want this to turn into the debate that kicks us offa deviant art. but i think your taking the concept of us slitting our wrist and taking our anti depression tablets too far. It's pretty new. I didn't start seeing "Emo" till last year or occasional mentions late in 2004 -- maybe that's some of what it is. Yet another bit of slang that becomes a generation marker. I still say Right On and Far Out sometimes. hehehe.
I hope someone does explain it though. I'm seriously curious now.
