Description Bobbie, the black Labrador of friends of mine. He had to be euthanized due to epilepsie. He was great fun to draw because of his expressive face.

Such a beautiful portrait. Love the expression - and you did wonderul job with the shiny black coat. I personally always somehow dread drawing black animals, love them but drawing them always seems like a bigger challenge than the lighter ones are.

Thank you very much. I actually love doing black animals. I've done many of them and rather draw a black or brown animal than a white or grey one. I guess you get comfortable in what you do most.

Well, I do that too. I caught myself only looking for references of dark horses... Oh well, I'm glad at least I drew something, hadnt drawn for almost two years. So YES! for sticking to our comfort zones!

Oh no, not you too! It's been ages since I have drawn anything, well except for one very recent mediocre sketch. Before that, nothing since December 2010. And I'm still trying to find the right focus for a decent drawing... would be about time. Good to hear you've got over your dry season. I look forward to seeing more art from you then, form whichever zone you prefer.

Yes, I've been out for ages. No motivation what so ever. But I feel its slowly coming back to me. I'm sure it will come back to you too. I guess many artist go through a block like this. But I'm sure we'll come out even better! I'll be sending good thoughts and feeling to you, hoping your dry spell will end soon. You're a great artist, would love to see something new from you.

Thank you. I'm kind of feeling that it might be passing but we'll see. I've had this kind of years without drawing far too often... Sometimes it seems I spend much more time suffering from a block than not.

I hated my block too. So two weeks ago I decided it had to be over and just started again. That worked for me. I hope you'll soon get to that point too. Just know that when you dont have a block, your art is amazing and inspiring. And worth the wait.
