Yes, thats true. She really was in a lot of pain so it was the best I guess. The point is, if she wasnt in so much pain, she still would have been such an energetic dog. I had a hard time dealing with that. But the memories are still great!

Thank you! I know, I still miss her too. But seeing her on photos and stuff makes me smile and remember the good times we had. Pets make such a difference in someones life. They are great.

Wonderful work! I think the highlights look just fine, accentuating the short, sleek hair of the head and longer, thicker hair of the body which flows together. It's incredibly realistic and alive; I love the soft eye and scattering of white hair around the nose. Just wondering, do you color on smooth paper, or textured?

Thank you! I'm coming to terms with the highlights now because of comments like these. So sweet!
I color on smooth paper. There's a picture of it in my scraps. Its very nice paper with a hint of yellow/beige. It gives something special to the drawing, especially because I dont do backgrounds! To lazy to learn...

It looks really like paint this one. And the highlights on the head would be different, lighter cos they'd catch the most light and the fur is tighter and sleeker there too so more reflective. Good job, no more nitpicking !

Thank you! Its still the most difficult part of the drawing. And there was a lot of fur!!

I always try to make the drawing look as much as the picture as possible. But sometimes the drawing would turn out better if I let that perfectionism go. I should have done that here. I agree with the highlight on her head, might have looked better if it was darker.
Oh well, better luck next time! Thanks for the great comment!

Thank you so much! I think it is a matter of looking at it to long. It looks fine. Thats a real compliment, thinking it was a photo! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. I'll try to be less critical. But you probably know how difficult that is! After looking at the drawing again, it seems it looks better in real life than on this photo.
