Description Portrait of a Malinois called Buck and he is a K9 police-dog. I'm happy with it, especially his eyes. I think they came out great. He has a lot of different colors in his coat which was fun to do.
I dont know much about the dog, but I hope his owner will be happy with it. Because then he might commission me again for his other dog, a Jack Russel.

Thankyou very much. I use Derwent watercolor pencils. they are great for creating intense deep colors.

This is absolutely fantastic.
I am astonished how well you get textures to work. Such as the difference between the fur and the leather collar, it looks almost like a photograph.
If the owner wasn't happy, then there's something wrong with him

That is beautiful! I love how you did around hte eyes, and the eyes, but the whole thing is great, nad you can see the dog's emotion.

He did. Photographs often have very distracting backgrounds, although no background might have been a bit too little...

you just get better and better with every one of these! yet again I am amazed the colours and textures are exquisite. This is really something to work towards and yes those eyes are really realistic and full of life! amazing work as ever!

Definitely getting them wrong can ruin everything... I remember a dog portrait I did in coloured pencil a couple of years ago, it was great until I put the eyes in (last)... he looked stoned, lmao!
