My VERY first cosplay, ever! I wore Kei to AnimeCon91, up in San Jose. It was the first all-anime convention in America to that point. (Project A-Kon may have been going on a year or so before, but it was not all anime, or so i've heard..But I digress)This pic was taken in 1993-4 or thereabouts. Newer fans may not know immediately who Kei is, but back then, EVERYONE did! Kei was a blessing and a curse for me. Back then, I had a much more smokin' hot bod to wear a spandex bikini, and the brashness of youth to go with it. For about 6 years, west-coast con-goers knew me as Kei, and not by my real name! Now, Kei's just a warm, happy memory of my young adulthood, and great times at cons with all my friends.
Kei was retired in 1995, and unless a miracle happens, will stay that way. IF, (and a big one at that!) I can get back to that fit size, I'd love to try the Yaz version of the novel-covers. But, I think as the years go by, that some cosplay is better left to the younger.
I'm still quite proud of Kei, tho!!

Kei and Yuri were great in the few issues of Adam Warren's run. That was some good manga. This is a nice pic btw. And thanks for the watch.

That is so sexy! I see no flaws on the costume. I understand what you mean regarding of age and the popularity of DP: in both cases you are left longing for those "golden years".

You know what's funny, tho? I've actually given more -real- thought of doing "Affair of Nolandia" Kei someday. In that, the DP are a bit older, so it might not be beyond the scope of reality to pull off. But, still need to get back into that good of shape! i'm 20lbs on my way, tho!!

Well, at first I was, but..Everyone at the cons were good about not being crude with me. Only once was I groped, and the guy was kicked from the con for it. Plus, I always had my friends with me, to make it safer.
