Description flying to and from Colombia this summer made for a lot of sister time between me and my older sister Cassie. it was amazing how much closer we became after just a few hours together in buses, airplanes, and airports. I also spent a lot of time doodling nonsense, and one day I was drawing these: [link] and Cassie mentioned off-hand (but totally serious) that she would pay me to draw a nice blue one for her apartment. well I tucked that away in the recesses of my mind for future projects, and just the other day I was trying to figure out something to get her for her birthday, which is coming up very quickly. I remembered her request and drew this up last night and finished it just a few minutes ago.

it looks deceptively mindless, but it took a lot of thought in both composition and color... it was also a major stress on my already-afflicted-with-Carpal-Tunnel wrist. but it was totally worth it

This is fun! I'm not one for the "I put a dot on the canvas and made up some fake deep personal meaning" abstract, but this is like abstract done right lol. Love the color combos!

thank you so much! it was very relaxing, the sort of thing i don't usually do :3
lol i actually looove that extreme sort of abstraction in fine art abstract minimalism is definitely not everyone's kind of art though, and i can understand why.
but thank you for your kind words dear!

Yeah I don't mean offense to anyones tastes. There's not anything WRONG with extreme abstract art. It's kinda hard to explain...I feel like a lot of those types of artists are...faking it? Like they just paint something, make up some crap story to go with it and then sell it for millions of dollars because for some reason the public eats it up. I even have friends who have done that just to see if it would sell better than their traditional stuff and 99% of the time it did...which is just sad to me.

oh no don't worry about it! haha i'm definitely not offended i absolutely know what you mean, it's one of the infuriating things i find about fine artists just at school :/ a whole lot of them don't put any thought or care into what they're doing, but then they pass it off as if it's totally brilliant. it pisses me off when they say stuff like "oh yeah, i was thinking of doing illustration..." and i'm like "bro, don't even kid yourself. you couldn't keep up." lol XD
