12x16" 30x40cm acrylic on hardboardThis year's painting of my old impatiens plant as it comes inside from spending the summer outside. It must be five years old now. I've posted an actual photo of it on my blog, though I did paint this from "life" rather than from a photo. Painting something (vs just painting) is hard for me. Don't have the patience...

Thanks again. The picture frame in my florals is an old habit of mine to fill in some space and provide a bit of structure. I probably should be bold enough to do without, but, alas, I'm not. Besides, I like "greeking in" the painting in the painting: it's often something I'd like to do for real, but is too abstract to stand on it's own.
