I have done this like 5 times.... And i got an ear infection (which kinda reminded me of a tumor) 3 times. Never gonna do this again.

I did that a few times back when I wore earrings, they closed up really quick. I had them actually re-pierced once by a professional, then just let them close up again cuz I was tired of dealing with them :T

.... I had my ears pierced at a very young age. I didn't wear earrings for 4-5 yrs after that. They NEVER closed up. Now I wear earrings, without the re-piercing junk. :'D

oh god, I was re-opening the piercings in my upper ear last friday. I swear I never new how tough a thin layer of skin could be ;_; my ear hurt for about a couple days after >.> I want to try and wear earrings more often so that they don't close up, plus they look pretty

You could always try heating up the needle part of the earring and the doing it. It'll semi-cauterize the wound. Of course it may slightly hurt like a bitch.

My dad did the same thing but instead of it being four years I'm pretty sure it was a number with two digits, but somehow it worked, I think. (It helps if you use an earring with the pointy tip they used to pierce it if they used a gun)
I've never had to redo mine to the point it bleed cuz it was only a year without wearing them...

I havent had my ears pierced since I was a baby but had to stop wearing them because I constantly got ear infections.
I was messing with one of the pairs of earrings I got as a gift and I felt the point of it go through my lobe! I freaked out and pulled it out immediately! My ear didn't bleed, then I realized, one of the holes didn't close. ; v ; Tried it on the other ear and it hurt...

I can actually re-pierce my ears with earrings! I didn't wear them for about 2 years, and I had a terrible idea to re-pierce them, so I did, and besides my ears violently swelling up, it worked great

I did this about thrice because I tend to not wear my earrings...
One time we did it with a needle. Is better than with earrings because earrings are blunt and needles aren't. However you will have to desinfect them first...
But yeah this is realy familar for me. The first time I realised it wasn't a good idea. Yet I did it again. Twice.

I'm forever having to re-pierce my ears, they heal over so quickly xD Next time I suggest numbing your ears with ice and using a needle instead
