mmmm.... tats are usualy much more bold, for the inks to stand out from the skin tones.
I love the design though!

I have actually seen quite a few where the colors are a bit softer overall, and only really bold along edges and such- more to give an idea of color, showing how it can be shaded differently and have different looks and stuff. *shrug*
but what do I know- it was never originally drawn as a tat- just as a doodle that I liked and decided to try some colors on in case I decided to get it done as one. (as it is, the only tat I do have -currently- is my own design as well *grin*)

the best tats are your own designs, especially when they carry significance. I was never one for kanji or sanskrit characters, and the old-school sailor anchors didn't do it for me either.
The only ink I have is a sword and rose design i did up in Corel Draw many many many years ago. It's now getting blurry and needs retouching...
I should take a pic and upload it, see what folks think.
