Yay, taking a bold step towards more interesting pieces of art, I decided to try some water colors in this one. I was really deathly afraid of it wrinkling, but when taped down (which I usually do with my works in progress anyway), it barely wrinkled at all :3 Satisfied.I left this piece pretty big, too, so if you want to use it as a wallpaper, feel free to download it. When stretched to fit most resolutions, it still looks pretty good. I'm too lazy to post it again as wallpaper, though.
Oh yeah, and I'm sorry about the stupid looking hands >_< some days my pen and my hands don't work together.
Prismacolor markers, pencils and archival markers, watercolors and white gel pen on bristol board.

Great job on this piece! I think my favorite part is certainly the way the wings draw the eyes towards the girl, closely followed by the great choice of colors. It really looks awesome! ^^
Her face to me looks perhaps a little too rounded? Maybe if you laid down a couple of darkest defining areas below her chin and her cheekbones it would help define her fine elven features more.
I also noticed a little bleeding on the edges of the wings, which is normal, especially for your first watercolor piece. There's a process called 'masking' that could help, which is basically just laying down tape along the sides of objects to keep the lines neat. Might help, might not, but it never hurts! Lol.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the color combo; I thought they went together really well, too. Thanks for the tips, as well. I'm so not used to watercolors. And you're right about the taping. I taped around the edges of the piece, to keep it from wrinkling, and the water color didn't get through. So I'll definitely have to try that next time.

^^ Glad to be of help. I did a few watercolors in my advanced independent study art class this year and those were the tips that my teacher relayed to me. I didn't actually take her advice about the taping, though I should have, because I was kind of behind on the number of projects I needed done, so I just sped right on, heh...
