I really enjoy reading Archie comics and they've been inventing a lot of new styles for their stuff lately so I wondered what Archie and the gang might look like if drawn differently...My first time colouring in Photoshop (I usually do 2-tone shading in Macromedia Flash) - hope it looks okay. I started this sketch way back in December and finally decided to finish it today.

The Archie Comics are the comics that I love the most. I first read them when I was 9. Now, I'm 19 and I still love reading them. I think Archie and Betty should be together, not Archie and Veronica. I never liked Veronica because she's too rich and too popular. Now, I've got 15 Archie Comics and I still love them.

What a terrific fanpic. All my girl cousins loved Betty; I went for Veronica. Later when I dated a Veronica lookalike cum-money-limo-daddy-lodge, I learned what my cousins already knew and I found and married a Betty. How nice you've made Betty more attractive and that is the best looking Archie I've ever seen; no wonder they fought over him. Lovely color, skin shades and tones and expressions. Very nice: fav Tell Archie to go after Betty.

Maybe so, but they have varied in the comics several times and I have never seen Archie with anything but black dots for his eyes. There's nothing consistent about their stuff so who knows.

I see your point. I got my info off their site though. But your point is made. the main characters are about the only ones who have black eyes now. everyone else is getting colour.

Oh yes, they're changing their style. To be honest, I've stopped buying the comics. I hate the way they're dragging them down with bad artists like the one working on the Betty And Veronica and Cheryl Blossom stuff then try to change the style to fix the problem... so maybe you're right.

Archie Comics are the only comics we can actually buy in my country except for the occasional MAD Magazine or Marvel item and I've enjoyed them for years and years myself. I always enjoy the vintage ones myself, perhaps I should try something in that direction sometime. ^^
