Description The table top is the focus of this picture. A friend of mine initially agreed to pay me to make her a desk top out of some reclaimed wood. Thinking it easy to find old wood in my home region where there are tons of old barn and dilapidated buildings I agreed. After 2 months of searching and having no luck I found myself coming back to Pickle Lake for work. I was glad I did. In the end while exploring the property I found a series of old core cribs (things that store drill core) that had been bulldozed.
After receiving permissions from my employers and the property owners I began the process of salvaging wood. In the end I found 8 boards (only 7 were used) that were in decent enough condition to build the table out of. I cut the wood to length on site and shipped the wood back to my parents place where I could work on it. All in all I sanded, assembled, and stained the table in 3 days.

That is absolutely gorgeous wood and it looks so well made. I actually love the frame it is on. It has a lot of character.

Hahha thank you I only made the table top. The frame was Amy's idea and construction. I'm actually really proud of this table top and I find myself wandering the mine site now looking for things to take apart and turn into more tables
