When I'm attacked by giant rubber monsters, I always resort to flashing them.

the Myrka looks better in your illustration, great work!, i remember when i watched the episode on the Doctor Who marathon on the Twitch website, and the entire chat went into hysterical laughter and "WHAT THE HECK" during that scene.
poor Ingrid Pitt was a example of a "too dumb to live" victim!, she made an useless sacrifice trying to karate kick the electrical Myrka while trying to act like some superheroine, XD.
and people wonder why the Silurians hate us...

Doctor Who is the TV show of odd choices. One often watches the classic episodes and ponder "Why did they think that would look good?"

I think the reaction, in hindsight, from both Ingrid Pitt as well as her character was "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Even when considering all the limitations due to the circumstances, especially in this instance, the Myrka is among the more ambitious creature creations of Classic Who. If they had been able to film it in more ideal lighting, as well as had the time to let the glue and paint actually dry, then this could have been one of the more effective monsters.

I know this is one of lowest point moments of the classic era of Doctor Who., but honestly this is actaully one of my "Behind the sofa" episodes.Β

It's a very violent serial, and I have no doubt that the Myrka was a scary monster for the kids.

I think the guys who were the Myrka were also the pantomime horse in "Rentaghost", so they were probably used to each others.. eminations.

Here's the brief, but spectacular battle. No -Ingrid Pitt does not know any martial arts.
