personality: King Christalf is a fair and honorable ruler who loves his kingdom and its people. This is reflected in his parenting skills, having raised Prince Nathan into an equally caring royal. He loved his wife, Floria, dearly, and still grieves her loss to this day. However, he refuses to let Nathan see him in such a state, and raised him the best that he could. His fatal flaw is his trust, particularly trust in the wrong individual: IceDevimon. As the king's top advisor, Christalf trusts him to a high degree, refusing to believe that he was responsible for Floria's death, or supposed murder.

history: As mentioned, his wife died when their son was only two, leaving Christalf to raise their son all alone. He is also good friends with Duke Roland of Aquarius City.

At the beginning of Book VI, he watched as his son, Nathan, prepared to leave on his journey, stating that, while he believed in IceDevimon's innocence, his son was old enough to make his own decisions. Nathan mentions that when he sets out to do something, he will see it through to the end, Christalf remarks that he is much like his mother in that regard. Before leaving, he tells his son that, knowing how hard it's been for him after the loss of his mother, that he must not let his misery cloud his judgement.

On the morning of Nathan's departure, Christalf watches over his son from afar alongside IceDevimon. IceDevimon feigns a shared worry over the prince's safety, claiming that he hoped the prince would return home safely. He further claims that, despite the dangerous Digimon spotted across the land, he would have liked to accompany the prince, but in his absence, there would be none left to protect the king. In IceDevimon's place, the Fallen Angel sent a Digimon from his own personal guard to Zirconis Village (later revealed to be an Ebidramon sent to destroy the village) and that even from far away, he was doing his part to protect the prince, which Christalf thanks him for.

Much later, Christalf rejoiced at the news of Nathan's homecoming, which IceDevimon was less than enthusiastic about. Christalf, thinking that Isaac had simply given up on his quest, was happy for IceDevimon, whose name would finally be cleared. IceDevimon urged the king to talk to his son, but when Christalf said he would wait, knowing how tired his son must be, IceDevimon thrust his claw into Christalf's chest and ripped out his heart.
