Description Haven't posted anything in a while, so here's an old piece of work, the Celtic Wolf. It's the original upon which the current Morrigan is based. Some of you might've seen it floating around the web before

I was searching for celtic knots and this popped up. I thought celtic wolf was a wolf made of crossing lines...

This is so cool, I could see this as a high level quest reward in an Elder Scrolls game. It is beautiful.

Wish I could have it so bad.
Made any scabbard yet?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LongshipArmoury In reply to schrikte [2016-07-30 16:04:32 +0000 UTC]

We'll make the occasional scabbard but usually send swords off to a 3rd party scabbard maker that can dedicate more time to it.

Looks very similar to another blade found here:Β sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thr… Not that I'm accusing you of theft or anything. Just thought it was an interesting coincidence. Great minds think alike I suppose.

I really admit your metalworks! Say, do you make these swords modern ways, or do some traditional stuff, like hammering it on an anvil?

nexialresonance [2015-03-19 01:15:12 +0000 UTC]

Very nice design, particularly the darkness of the blade, which shows off the blood groove well.

Nethgar In reply to nexialresonance [2015-05-16 22:44:26 +0000 UTC]

... Do you mean the fuller? There's no such thing as a "blood groove".

I'd like to know what the measurements are; blade length, handle length and the width? Is that possible

Stunning sword! Is it battle-ready? Does it have a scabbard?

How much would one of these cost?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LongshipArmoury In reply to AaronRhyneHendren [2014-04-29 00:37:51 +0000 UTC]

This was a custom made piece. To do something similar today, we'd probably have to be around $4,500. Scabbard is not included.

can u really make a sword out of obsidian? Is there such a thing as black metal?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

kaithelonechampion In reply to tails-truthgem [2014-07-17 02:19:08 +0000 UTC]

I saw a blacksmith-armorer use a dye that "activated" when he heat treated the sword. You can check it out on youtube, just write "man at arms sokka's sword". The dye doesn't make it really dark but you can still slightly alter the colour with chemicals dyes and other options. But LongshipArmoury is right otherwise

Not really. I guess you could let it rust, but that kind of defeats the purpose.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LongshipArmoury In reply to bolvarak [2013-07-26 23:32:21 +0000 UTC]

Wouldn't be able to do it exactly to keep some uniqueness for the original, but something similar with a pattern-welded damascus blade, hand-carved fittings, and etchings on the blade would run around $4500.

weaselKW [2013-07-25 20:26:50 +0000 UTC]

Is this the blades natural color? or did you paint it? looks freakin sweet!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LongshipArmoury In reply to weaselKW [2013-07-25 23:10:29 +0000 UTC]

That's what this particular piece of pattern-welded damascus looked like after acid etching it to bring out the natural pattern.

Beautiful, beautiful sword. I love how the blade is tight near the handle but broadens, and then things, and broadens again, It's got a slight hint of fantasy but still feels just as powerful as any of the most classic swords.

Not to mention the cool color of the blade.
