Amazing what a cheap ballpoint can create such a wonderful artwork. You really have such talent and time, sir.

If I was the CEO of the company that made this pen, I would ditch all advertising campaigns and just show your work as an illustration of what can be done with them.
Staggeringly high talent.
Your friend looks remarkably like Milla Jovovich, actually. I thought it was her at first.

Your work in all mediums, and especially ballpoint pen, is incredibly inspriring! I also love Juan Francisco Casas's work and it's great to know people are working in pen, amazing art!

Where's the cross hatching and strokes?

Thank you! The cross hatching is not as obvious here due to the resolution of the image, but they were made very lightly.

Wow, that must be some resolution, what is the resolution?
Did you scan or take a picture of your drawing?
If I did such light strokes, I would have to edit it to darken the
strokes.

LopezLorenzana In reply to Fatehpur [2013-01-17 05:24:49 +0000 UTC]
It was a quick scan, and the original image is around 7 x 10 inches.

How long did it take for you to draw this portrait?
Must have taken several hours, I presume. I am familiar
with this medium, very much. Actually I discovered your
drawing in a group yesterday when I was submitting a drawing.

It took me around 10 to 15 hours, it's my first attempt at drawing with ballpoint.

Really? Your pen must have glided quite nicely.
Yes, drawing with the pen is time consuming.

Amazing how you create so many different shadings only with a ballpoint pen and without erasing! Looks very photorealistic, like a print on a newspaper!
