"Um, hello there. Hi. I'm Stormy. You're Midnight Abyss, right?"

Midnight sighed. She continued on with her work, hoping that if she ignored the stranger, he'd take the hint and go away.

"...It's just that I'm a big fan. I really loved your show tonight! You're an amazing singer, miss."

"...Thanks." Midnight said stiffly. She frowned, still hoping to ward off the stallion and avoid any pesky unnecessary social activity.

No such luck. Her response, cold as it was, only prompted the stallion to continue. He sighed happily. "You had such wonderful stage chemistry with your partner, too. Even though your singing styles are complete opposites, your voices compliment each other so well! Like....shadow and sunshine, all woven up together."

"Mm."

The stallion suddenly became shy. "....Your, ah....your partner's name is Chakra Blossom, right?" A dopey smile spread across his face. "He's.....really something special, isn't he?"

Ugh. Midnight rolled her eyes. "...Special doesn't begin to describe him."

"I'll bet." Stormy laughed nervously. "It must be wonderful having somepony like that to yourself. How long have you two been dating?"

Midnight promptly choked on her own spit. "What?"

Stormy blinked at her. "....You're his girlfriend, right?"

"W-wha-ugh-!" Midnight sputtered, struggling to express the full extent of her revulsion. "What in Starswirl's sagging scrotum ever gave you that idea?"

Stormy looked genuinely confused. "The two of you were singing a love song? It was beautiful. You were gazing into each other's eyes and everything."

"Chakra wrote that tripe. I'm only paid to perform it, you....y-you oblivious little-"

"And I always see you two together. He's so touchy with you, I thought it was cute. And you've made him that sweet little love plushie there."

"Love plushie?" Midnight gawked at the hoof-made voodoo doll of Chakra she'd been levitating. "This is a tool for witchcraft, you simpleton!"

"Well, it does have a big red heart stitched on it."

"That's a special spot for inflicting agony and strife! I was in the middle of making this thing my new pincushion, before you barged in here!"

"Was that what you were doing? I thought you were giving it affectionate little love pokes." Stormy tilted his head. "I'm sorry to assume, miss. I thought for sure you two were....it's just that I saw you two hug off-stage-"

Midnight flushed an angry red. "You were spying on us? How dare you!" Her horn sparked in outrage.

"Not spying!" Stormy held up his hooves, pacifying. "You two just weren't as concealed as you thought, is all."

"Get one thing straight." Midnight spat. "I allowed him to hug me. Our show went better than expected. But don't get the wrong idea-I do not care for that enormous green oaf. I am not his..." She blanched at the word, "...girlfriend. I do not make him love plushies, I merely make voodoo dolls to punish him when he misbehaves-"

"Kinky?" Stormy blinked at her, innocent.

"Gah!" Midnight scuffed the ground with her hoof, like a bull about to charge. "Listen to me, I'll put this to you as delicately as I can. Chakra and I are not....that. We will never be.....that. For a wealth of reasons, personal and otherwise, but a large one being that Chakra Blossom-" Here she began to stab the doll with a pin-"Does not. Care. About. Anypony. Besides. Himself-" She punctuated each word with a violent stabbing, right through the doll's patched red heart.

Stormy watched her have her enraged little episode for several moments, before she seemed to tire herself out. She let the pin pierce the doll one last time, sinking the needle deep into the cotton stuffing.

"So...." Stormy's tail began to wag hopefully. ".....You're saying he's single?"

Midnight groaned in frustration and yanked at her mane. I give up.

stormy first saw chakra at a music concert and started crushing hard
he was mad thirsty for him but he (like most ponies), kinda assumed chakra was with midnight

midnight is going to go bang her head on a wall

for as irritated as Midnight is with Stormy right now, she really wasn't happy with how Chakra treated Stormy when those two started dating. It lead to her really realizing that Chakra was a jerkass and eventually she dumped him as a friend
