Description I am a firm believer in dreams, which means I believe in nightmares. I had one, God alone knows how long ago, where hundreds of these...things were coming out of a volcano. I drew them when I woke up and simply called them "the Bone Bags." I never thought up a better name so that's what they are. Bone Bags.

I imagine them to behave like social insects, and these two are from the soldier caste. They're blind because they live underground, so they use echolocation. I've put them into role-playing games and maybe an upcoming novel or two. We'll see. In the mean time, I think Wayne Barlowe's work inspired them. So, Mr. Barlowe, wherever you are, thank you from the bottom of my frightened heart.

Wow, those guys are neat!
Kinda look like some crazy-ass evolution on the daggerwrist from Expedition

Yeah I think that was my original inspiration all those years ago.

Used to think that dreams were just stuff from my waking life but after a few of really weird ones, not so much now.

Looks great.

I'm still not 100% as to what dreams truly are. The safest theory is that they're random misfiring neurons inside the brain, but honestly who believes that nonsense? Anyway thanks for all the compliments.

You're right. I think that's what gave me the nightmare, but thanks! The dagger-wrists were cool.

At least you can make use of you nightmares. Mine are so vague I can't make heads or tails of them. Certainly not enough to make such interesting creatures.

Bear in mind that I cannot do this with every single nightmare. I thank you for the compliment, but trust me, it was a rare occurence. Most of the time I just have the classic bad dream, like when I'm late for school and I didn't study for the big final exam. The bone bags were just so...unique for various reasons. I made all of the scientific stuff when I was awake and coherent.

Thanks again.

Ah, but one almost lucid nightmare which can be drawn is better than no lucid nightmares that can be drawn.
