Description During First War alongside orcs and their wolves, were coming to Azeroth ogres from dying world of Draenor. They wanted mostly to live in lands, not inhabitated by orcs. However these warriors still had to fight with humans, trolls, gnolls itp. Warchief Blackhand ordered Black Tooth Grin Clan to hunt free ogres who left the Horde. If these ogres would not rejoin Horde, would be executed. But there were still ogres who fought for Horde, because they simply wanted something to smash. However their numbers were not as big as during Second War. But still these brutes caused great havoc across the Stormwind in favor to their warchief. In return they had chances to destroy things and eat many humans as they could. Although knights on horses were efficient against these monsters, they were too much preoccupied with wolf riders. Because of that Stormwind had to find a new way to deal with these giants...

The most famous ogres during First War were two-headed ogre-mage named Cho'gall, leader of Twilight Hammer Clan, which was obsessed in bringing apocalypse on Azeroth, and ogre-lord named Turok, who served Blackhand mostly because he was in love with warchief's daughter Griselda. After he was brutally punished for letting to escape Lothar with a precious Tome of Divinity, he escaped as well with Griselda. For this he was sentenced to death by the Warchief along with Griselda. Orgrim Doomhammer led orcs to Dead Mines where they killed fugitives (although Orgrim felt great shame and anger for killing those, who just wanted to be free from Blackhand's tyranny).

In Warcraft: Orcs & Humans as tank units in Horde, they could be tougher than their Stormwind counterpart - earth elementals. Their abilites could be tougher skin and bash (passive).
