Description During First War main clans who took active part in conflict were:
- Blackrock Clan under leadership of Warchief Blackhand and his second and later Warchief Orgrim Doomhammer (red),
- Bleeding Hollow Clan under Killrog Deadeye (green),
- Twilght's Hammer Clan under two-headed ogre-mage Cho'gall (purple),
- Necrolyte & Warclock Clans under Gul;dan (depending on the clan they fought in).

However in my opinion there were other clans who were involved, but much less than clans above:
- Frostwolf Clan under Durotan (azure). In the beginning of the war, they fought for the Horde. However they were banished by Gul'dan when Durotan freed his captured slaves and killed warlocks sent by Gul'dan, after learning from evil sorcerers that slaves were meant for their cruel rituals.
- Black Tooth Grin Clan under Rend & Maim Blackhands (black). They come from Blackrock Clan. Their task was guarding a Dark Portal.
- Dragonmaw Clan under Zuluhed the Whacked (white). Known for taming the fierce rylaks from Draenor. They swore loyality to Blackhands and also guarded Dark Portal.
- Burning Blade Clan under Dharl of the Thrice-Bloodied Blade (orange). After crossing Dark Portal, many orcs went mad at the sight of the hostile, alien world of Azeroth and joined Burning Blade, much to other chieftains's annoyance. Known for their blademasters, these orcs were corrupted  so much, that they were very hard to control, much like Twilight's Hammer Clan. Their chieftain tried to have them under control, also like Cho'gall but unlike ogre-mage, Dharl was murdered with his daughter Azuka Bladefury in grotesque way by his own mad warriors. After that the clan was decaying more and more. Many warriors on their own attacked anyone on their way, even orcs from other clans. Blackhand tried to destroy these madmen unsuccessfully, but ultimetaly he left them on their own, so they could harm everyone in their way except orcs. After Doomhammer became new warchief, he tasked ogres with capturing Burning Blade clansmen. They succeeded and since then, ogres controlled these warriors, so they could not harm warriors from Horde. Before Second War these demented warriors were no more clan, but elemental force of nature, who were held in check by the ogres to be unleashed by the Horde in times of urgent duress.
- Few ogre clans under ogre lord Turok (depending on the clan they fought in). After Turok's death Blackhand decided that ogres do not need their own leader, so he became their new leader. After Blackhand's death Orgrim became their new leader. Ogres much more liked Doomhammer than Blackhand. Some of them even treated him like a smaller ogre and true leader.
