Description Before the First War, the leader of the fallen world Draenor was chieftain of Blackrock Clan, Blackhand, called that thanks to his black hand. This orcish behemoth, almost as big as ogre and bigger than any other orc, was a bloodthirsty warrior, who reveled in mindless onslaught. Every orc before him was losing his courage to his threatening aura of might and blackness. His cruelty was so big that no one could challenge it, not even Garrosh Hellscream, his future successor. According to Varok Saurfang, former worshipper of Blackhand, only the last Warchief, Sylvanas Windrunner became Blackhand's true heir to her predecessor's bloody legacy of violence and destruction.

However, in the end his true legacy was of brutal tyrant, ineffective Warchief and mere puppet of dark forces. From the beginning he was manipulated by Gul'dan, Shadow Council and Burning Legion. Every decision he made, came first from evil warlocks first. Although Blackhand was cunning leader and warrior, he became dependable on his evil advisors. He was also a reckless and careless warchief. This nearly cost his people First War. Also he underestimated humans, especially their leader - Anduin Lothar, who nearly killed Blackhand when had a chance. Blackhand escaped with his life only because his minions saved him. Later Blackhand executed his saviors furiously for their "arrogance". However he was still the strongest orc in existence. Even at the end of his life he considered getting rid of Gul'dan and he was not bothered at all when Gul'dan was in coma.

However all was lost, when Blackhand's second-in-command challenged him to Mak'Gora, accusing him of treason against his entire race. Although the duel was a fierce and long one, in the end Blackhand was killed and Orgrim Doomhammer became a new Warchief who succeeded where Blackhand failed in destroying Stormwind and winning First War. Blackhand did not even save his transformation from all that fel inside him into a grotesque abomination in the middle of the fight (if you need an inspiration for his look, it's like his corrupted appearance in Warcraft Movie: The Beginning).
