It's about time....Lol, last time I drew a draft cover was May 2010....shameful...
Anyways, the vote for cover was very close, so in the end I decided to continue with my original plan of drawing them at order of appearance. The tough part is fitting Vicki on the cover! I want them to all be at the same scale, and she is bigger than Jonathan and Noelle so she is pushing up into the logo. That is ok though, if you don;t know what you're reading you should put it down and walk away slowly...
I am pretty happy with the pose, but obviously need to add detail and fix her hands (why are they so hard to draw! DAMN YOU). Then I will vector it up and 1/200 things for Vol.3 will be complete. @_@
(this also means the back cover picture will be Jonathan, Noelle and Caley. Boy is he going to be for it, now that those two have him alone!)
What do you guys think?

IT IS AMAZING WHAT LEARNING TO USE A TABLET CAN DO!
Oh god this volume is so far behind!!! But I just have to vector this now (to match the style of the other covers) and make a back cover and we're done.

i just ordered vol 1 & 2, which chapters will vol 3 have

Lol. Afraid not. But with each piece I am that much closer! Honestly I am considering only working on this cover (and the pages of DCP). Once it is done (and the back cover/which is easier) the book is complete, save spelling!
So I am expecting to finish the book by the end of Dec. and once it is proofed it will be ready to go. So I guess my best guess is January. It shouldnβt be any longer than that.

I'm confused, the front is just a single character, but the back has the other three, how is it the front takes more work?

Cause I vector the front to make it look super clean. Which means I trace over every line digitally (to maintain the same look for each cover). While the back cover is drawn by hand.

Ah, okay, not an artist myself so didn't quite get what the 'vector'ing step you mentioned in the description actually entailed, sounds rather like having to draw the same image twice, exactly, which would indeed be more effort.

Like drawing twice, but one is dont with pen tool, rather then by hand.

Nice to see an update on this one, and even better the idea that the third book might be available to grab soonish.
I am wondering though, given Vicki's head currently obscures the 'Parallel' part of the title, have you considered shifting it over towards the center or left, or are you planning on leaving it there to fit with the other two books?

Consider it a balancing act. Noelle is mostly in the left, Jonathan in the center, so Vicki is on the right. Covering the words Parallel doesn't matter, as it is on the spine, and if you bought the book, you know what you're reading.

That's true, and with a cover like these ones have the character is the main focus anyway, rather than the words, so having the first obscure the second isn't that big I suppose.

It's a very nice cover, though I doubt I would have bot it if I had not know what it contained, though that is because I am gay. I'm sure however that the first cover would have peeked my demographics interest first anyway, so it's probably not an issue. I've always loved your logo though. Says it all realy. X)

The cover really isn't about sexual orientation. It is about characters. If this was something on the shelves, it just needs to be interesting enough for someone to look on the back and read a little about it.
Technically in that same token, straight guys would be turned away by a boy in latex and leather. Truth is the covers aren't about that. Plus the only people buying them are people who read the comic, so that in itself solves the problem!

The plan is to do the covers so that they are in order of appearance. That and there will be 5 books, so Vicki wouldn't be at the end anyways.

That's actually something I've been wondering about. Going in order of appearance you've got:
1. Jonathan
2. Noelle
3. Vicki
4. Caley
5. ???
Is the fifth going to be a character we've seen already, or some mystery someone that hasn't shown up yet?

I'm not sure yet. Jonathan might book end it on the 5th cover, or someone else. Well see, that is a long way off!
