Description
Thank you for downloading and using the "Mass Effect 2 Loading Screens" screensaver.No copyright infringement is intended and the "Mass Effect" name as well as logos are property of Bioware. This screensaver was created purely as way to show support and love for the franchise.
As a result, this must not be redistributed for commericial use or means of profit and credit must be given to me as well as the developers and publishers of Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2.
Bioware in no way are affiliated with or support this screensaver.
Adobe Flash Player 10 is a minimum requirement.
Story Behind it:
After playing Mass Effect 2 I was curious as to whether there was a screensaver containing the loading screens with schematics
of the Normandy and other areas. I couldn't find one.
Eventually I used "RAD Video Tools" to convert the 40 or so .bink files into the highest quality possible and edited them together in Sony Vegas Pro 10 before converting the end video in a .swf file that then could be used with the freeware program "InstantStorm" that enabled me to create the screensaver.

Thanks. I definitely wish I could've made it in 1080p or higher. Like I've said in other comments though--the video files from the ME2 folder were 720p. It would've still looked blurry if I converted them to 1080p--it would've looked something like a YouTube video at 360p if I converted them to something like 4k. xD
Hopefully, since the next Mass Effect game will be on PC and next-gen consoles--they'll make some higher resolution cut scenes and loading screens for when (or if) I decide to make another screensaver.

Yeah, came back after running some errands and the video was frozen, but other than that it works fine. At least when it stops I still have the picture of the Normandy on the screen. Still awesome man.

It's Windows only I'm afraid. There's no way for me to make a version for OS X since I only use Windows and Linux.

When I made this, my PC could barely handle anything 1080p, and the source videos from the ME2 folder were/are 1280x720 (which I used for the screensaver. So I made this with low spec computers in mind.
A higher resolution version, as well as a fix for the looping issue is still on my list of things to do. RL just keeps getting in the way.

Thanks! I really appreciate it! Even though it doesn't loop like the other user says, I never really leave my laptop for extended periods of time unless I purposely do it just to watch your screen saver so it's not really a big deal. Hope that a higher resolution will come soon!

I'm not quite sure. The tools I used (RAD Bink and Smacker, InstantStorm and Sony Vegas Pro 10) are Windows only programs but I'd imagine that there'd be something similar for OSX.
I'm not a Mac/OSX user so can't offer alternatives or try to produce a Mac screensaver.

If you would like, I could create the screensaver for you with only the .swf file and then I could hustle it back to you in the blink of an eye for you to upload for your little Mac users! I can do it in less than an hour.

Fantastic Screensaver, just what i was looking for; thank you a lot for this great work. But i have a problem: When i choose the Screensaver in the display settings, Win7 says, no Screensaver chosen (in the Theme-Settings) and it doesn't start eiher. Although it's running in the preview of the Screensaver-Settings without any problems. My System is Win7 Pro x64, AMD Radeon HD 5670, 4 GB RAM, MSI KA-790GX.

Thanks. That's the first report of that issue although I think it's more of an OS issue since I've encountered that problem before with other screensavers.
The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have the latest .NET 4.0 client and the latest flash installed. If you have those, try to reinstall them.
I made and tested this screensaver with similar specs to yours. I had a HD5670, Windows 7 Ult 64-bit, 8GB RAM until recently - I upgraded to a Phenom II x6 1090T, Asus M5A97 Pro and HD6770 1GB yesterday which is why my reply is a little late - had to reinstall Windows and such.

Hi, i found the solution for the Problem: Win7 had problems with the long filename with spaces of the screensaver. I renamed the both files in ME2screens.scr and ME2screens.ico and voila, now it works. Thanks a lot again for this great Screensaver!

I need to remake this after losing the original files in a mistake HDD wipe, want to support as many computer configurations and desktop resolutions.

Also, did you include the DLC screen loadings? If not that would be a nice addition... Then again i'm afk most of the time when it runs

works really well, seamless, few jitters and jumps on my system, but that's just because its not up to par...

What's your system specs?
I mean I tested this on the specs in my signature but I also have a 1Gb DDR2 RAM, 1.6Ghz Intel Atom netbook that I could test a more tweaked version on since I want people to have the best experience possible regardless.

i got a compaq presario desktop, 2GB DDR RAM, 2GHZ.
theres only a couple of spots where there is a lot happening that it jumps a bit. i think its cause i have onboard graphics more than anything.
