First let me say that this is a beautifully done book! Just...I bow to you in this respect. I was curious, did you mean that you made the paper and if so how did you do so?

Thanks a lot!
No, sadly I haven't made the paper, I bought it. I'd love to make my own paper but it is SO MUCH work. The one I used here was made in Nepal, and you could tell it was handmade cause it was not cut evenly!!!!!! (made me crazy!)

Yeah!
I have a notebook with paper like that so I know about the uneven edges and such. I really want to learn how to make some.

Beautiful work! I love the inserts in the cover - what paper did you use? I'm wondering how heavy it is and how it would work with wet-media...

Lorelei-BRC In reply to katpaints [2014-04-03 11:26:24 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much
I used natural handmade paper for this one, I wanted to give an earthy feeling to it. The paper I used is quite thin and would not at all work with wet-media. It could only be used as a journal or as a sketchbook (but you would have to be gentle with the paper :s).
I've made other books with very thick paper for watercolors or any other wet-media, I'm curently making a Star-Wars themed one for a friend

I just made a much quicker, down and dirty sketch/painting book. I just covered chip board with scrapbooking paper, cut up a sheet of watercolor paper and punched it all and put a wire binding on it. I put a pocket in back for whatever and elastic to hold it together. The benefit of this is that it is highly functional. LOL! I would never use a glorious book!

I've made some 'mini albums' - sweet little books, usually following someone's directions I found on YouTube, supposedly to be used for photos but I doubt that would ever happen. I just like looking at them.

Thank you very much
I'm not so sure I understand what you mean by "do you see these anywhere?", do you mean something like where do I get my inspiration from or maybe you meant "sell" and not "see"?
Anyway, thanks again
