Some tidbits about the design choices:
-I did try to make my dragonsona bear some physical resemblance to myself, hence the hair and eye color. I'm also quite small in real life, and do actually have fairly long limbs and fingers (obviously exaggerated here)
-Didn't feel that spitting out some sort of deadly element or being able to rip things apart fit my personality. I may be a martial arts nut and love to spar but I'm actually a pacifist, can't imagine hurting someone save in self defense or in defense of someone else.
-So I chose to breathe ink instead. Since I am pretty obsessed with color and coloring it seemed fitting, especially since when coloring traditionally I work with copic markers. Need to try the airbrush system for that someday, don't I?
-My choices regarding the flight aspect (the wing tattoos and still being a novice) stem from my slow progression in my opinion to mature into a full fledged adult and accept myself for who I am. I've only recently decided to dedicate myself to my art and its ilk full time instead of seeking other employment (which isn't necessary for my living situation) out of some bizarre sense of obligation. So I'm still uncertain and floundering a bit.
-My dragonsona has feathered wings because it makes me more of an odd duck, pun unintended, and I most certainly am quite odd. I also have always really liked birds in general. Pigeon wings were chosen partly due to their shape and coloration patterns and partly because of my pacifist tendencies. (Pigeons are part of the dove family)
-I made my ears large for more humorous reasons: when I was little my Dad used to tease me that my ears stuck out. You know, like how all parents mess with their young children, its a lot of fun. They really don't stick in reality, but it was too much fun to pass up.
