Nice effect on the magic building up around the staff, makes this pic look exciting even though there is no background. I think the sorcerer's beard could be a lil more detailed and the cape should be blowing in the same direction his beard and clothes are.

I like the sense of movement here, his beard flowing forward, the book flapping around, the cape mimicking the staff's magic. It's a well thought out composition. The pink around his knees brings the colors together too. Nice work!
