Description First off, I have to say every aircraft design I do referring to the Destroyermen saga is derived, at least in part, from an initial drawing by the author, Taylor Anderson.  Kudos to an inventive mind.   I then bend, fold, spindle & mutilate them to my own depraved ends.

This design study is to test an increased power version of the PB-1C Nancy.  Also to test the modular landing gear system which can be removed or installed in less than 15 minutes (if the internal mounting hardware is preinstalled).  The landing gear is manually operated by either the pilot or the observer/gunner & allows for rapid recovery of the aircraft on carrier flight decks or land based air fields.  The second engine provides redundancy, increased speed & rate of climb & compensates for the added weight of the .30 caliber machine gun & ammunition in the nose.  The gun in the nose also adds stability to the airframe on this model & the previous PB-1C aircraft.

This is version #2 of the proposed PB-6B design study, with modifications from pilot inputs.  It's features include engines relocated slightly inboard to assist in hand propping, addition of a P-2 derived variable pitch assembly to improve flight performance, increased fuel capacity, & easier radiator access.

Logical extension of the Nancy, especially with the modular landing gear.  I’m wondering when the Alliance will start enclosing cockpits, or give the backseater a pintle-mounted .30-cal.

Thanks, I thought it was about time for them to upgrade the Nancy also.  As far as the other upgrades, that's up to Taylor A.

Thanks!  It's about the same size as the current PB-1B, so would do well as a planned replacement with a bit more capability & flexibility.
Adding landing gear to the current PB-1B would probably put a bit too much strain on the engine/airframe & lower the performance too much to be worth while.
