Description I was very excited to try this specific costume. Not because I'm interested in the character of John Walker (I actually really liked him in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, probably my favorite character from the show), but because this costume is one of my favorites. I find really fun and creative the way it evolves from the original Captain America suit but removing some of the aspects that made the classic one so iconic. Love the fact that these changes were made by Steve Rogers when he became disillusioned with his country and government, giving up the mantle of Captain America and creating a new identity: The Captain. Sadly, like with both Marvel and DC, everything always goes back to the status quo, so this change wouldn't last as Steve would be forced to take the mantle of Captain America back from John Walker, the man the government chose to become the new Cap. After this, it would be John the one who would put on this costume to become the U.S. Agent. A fun concept, but to me it was way more impactful and dramatic that the person behind this mask was Steve Rogers as a free agent, moving past the archaic and radical views of country and patriotism some people attribute him.

For the design I wanted to, much like in the MCU, play with straps as the bars from the flag. I also thought it would be fun that the two classic wings from the mask have evolved into a single sort of radio device for communication. Always trying to mix analogic sci-fi elements to this 80s Marvel universe. The costume itself was heavily inspired by the work of Shirow Masamune, master of 80s sci-fi. Lastly, I decided to place the shield on the back, since I'm not entirely sure what to do with it. I don't really like any of the designs we've seen in the comics for the US. Agent's shield, and my mind goes blank when trying to think what to do with it's design. Does John Walker really need a shield, honestly?
