Description ...well i guess they're already dead before they get there so it's more like a cemetery, but still. Taken in a big car wrecking place. You can go in there and take parts off these old cars to fix yours. Had to do a bit more work than usual to get this to where i thought it was good enough so thats why it's in the darkroom

As you can see by riding in such of these metal death traps, NEVER attempt to drive one of them.

i'd say yout best!!!!

The tone preservation is beyond preservation. The shadow domination symbolized death. You revealed the perfect amount of sky...which allows for peace...despite the gruesome scene. And most of all....the soft gloss makes the whole piece seem surreal. *shouts* "Masterpiece"

What are you thinking!!!this should be a print!!!

this isn't a print yet? Thankyou for bringing that to my attention I'll have to go and find the original file

Splendid concept. I'd like to see more detail on the car, perhaps it would be better slightly brighter. That would make it stand out from the background a bit more. Overall a great job.

Yeah, you're probably right. I think it would look better a bit brighter. Oh well Thanks for the feedback!

yeah ya cant beat developing your own pics it such a thrill to see a picture slowly show up on the paper
and to have full control over every aspect of the final image
at the mo im learning the zone system and how to make archival prints
and its just adding to my level of photography
unfortunately i only have limited access to the digital camera from tech but it is an s1pro
and it takes great pics
what model camera do you have?

Thanks!

I started out with a (borrowed) digital a few years ago, but then i went to automatic 35mm camera, then an old film SLR, then i did some of my own film developing with black and white photos, and then i went from a little webcam digital to a more advanced digital and now i have a DSLR

I guess that was a good way to learn.

I didn't do anything TOO fancy or hard with this shot. I learnt everything i know about photoshop by doing tutorials from the internet and just messing around with it in my spare time Thanks for the feedback on the photo

gunshydaffodil [2004-11-15 18:40:51 +0000 UTC]

Ok, you've really done it now. This is immense! The blueness, and the BEETLE! I mean *gasps for air* I loooove beetles. We had two when I was small, they're just the ultimate car! It kind of reminds me of this postcard my best friend got for me with four beetles sitting on this small hill with an incredibly dramatic sky and air of portent. Loving it!

lukeroberts In reply to gunshydaffodil [2004-11-16 14:08:47 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Yes they are a good car. Our family has had about a million beetles over the years. If you're interested there's a beetle club on dA here: [link] - my brother is part of it ~kerodean

Thanks again!

aww.. I'm glad the picture was able to have an emotional effect (not that i'm glad you were sad though ). I'm not sure if the beetle would still be there... this was taken a few weeks ago. Thanks for the comment
