It was a running joke on FAP, for a while, inspired by a fountain at Hogwarts from the third movie. The fountain depicted an eagle eating a snake.
That led to jokes that Slytherins REALLY hated that fountain, and were paranoid about Ravenclaws. Did Salazar really leave on his own, or did Rowena cook him for a Ravenclaw feast? Or, maybe Ravenclaws just considered snakes a delicacy. They taste like chicken, you know...
