Magister Theodosia needs to collect the last sprouting bergamot plants in the Voidfields, before the approaching frosts and winter cold make them wither and die. As usual, an Enforcer is assigned to keep watch, and a younger Viper was asked to go along and help in whatever capacity necessary. In this case, Theodosia needs extra jaws to carry the bergamot.

It's a beautiful, sunny autumn day, though cold. A good day to collect the plants. Still, being out in the open is a bit of a relief, as these white wolves...they could be seen approaching from a mile away. Ivar is keeping an eye on things, and Siren's lending his own observational skills, so Theo can focus on spotting the scarlet-capped plants amongst the dying grass.

It's important to have a good stock of bergamot - it fends off infection in wounds.

Goodness knows there's going to be more of those as winter closes in...

Random idea I had and thought I'd whip up - I spent a lot of time researching plants utilized by the various tribes of North America for healing, and whether they were safe to be consumed by dogs (and, by extension, wolves). Whether they would have the same healing effect on dogs is something we just can't find out with the resources online - that only tells you whether a plant will make your dog ill or not, pretty much.

But anyway. Bergamot, also known as scarlet bee balm or Oswego tea, grows in moisture-rich, open spaces with full sun, as far south as Georgia. Sounded reasonable to me to put in Vektren's Voidfields!
