Description Again, I try getting characters to interact with each other on the page, this time with a Brass and Black dragon from 3rd ed. D&D. For the Brass, I was looking at a lot of Todd Lockwood's stuff, as I love his pencil work. Then I decided I wanted a background. A crazily detailed one. So I found some photos, took the bits that I liked and made a mountain range. And then the trees, and the rocks and the shadows of the trees and the slopes. I hope to someday colour this....that day is a long long ways away, methinks.

I love the pencil shading and the sheer amount of detail. It would be greatly enhanced if color was added, but the process of adding color, digitally or not, might ruin it. Overall, epic picture!

Thank you very much. It's still on my, "To Colour One Day" list, though at this point I think I'd need to find it and rescan it first.
....the hard part is of course finding it.

WOH!! thats sooooo good xDDDD well done here! they really do look like the D&D dragons, and doing the poses like that ish great!! must say this really is very well done; the detail you haev put in on the background and dragons is superb. the little trees on the mountains add a great touch to the image, and the line art is just so awesome.... well done! xDDD. the only thing i can say is, don't black dragons hang around swamps? hehe. not that that matters, gone hunting im guessing hehe. .. the wing poses are awesome too! xDDD

well, the time you spent on them made them awesome! so well done again theres .
hehe... guess you need a copper to come chat with the brass (think thats the right way round.. i always get the brass bronze and copper mixed up >.< ) hehe... and hopefully the black can sneak away hehe.. unless they worship that type that means they find it dishounourable to flee.... heh, then not so good ^_^.

Funnily enough, the drawing that I initially did that got me started on this one was a copper (and yes, you have it the right way 'round).... and now you're giving me ideas.....ooooohhh. Like I really need something else to distract me from school....
Well, if there is an eventual sequel to this drawing, I'll know who to blame/thank. ^_^

(The Black Dragon: It's not "fleeing," it's called a "tactical withdrawal." There's a difference.)

Yeah, I know black dragons hang around swamps... I forget if I even had a reason in the first place for sticking these two together - it may have been hunting or exploring or something.... Obviously, the black got horribly lost and wasn't happy to begin with about the very arid terrain. And then comes along this big, snotty brass who starts pulling his tail and calling him names, and the black's day just got exponentially worse. ^_^
*shudders* those wings.... gah, those wings.... they took forever. But thanks!!

How many years did it take for you to do this? *grins* I still love it, hun. Maybe I should color it for you? :-P

You can colour it if you want. It's not going to stop me from wanting to, though.
(hey, fancy that, we're a matched set!)

Not quite. I cropped my frame a bit closer. ...although now I might just change that...
