So, *slyeagle had a birthday not too long ago. And me being the broke person I am, I told her that I'd draw her something- A character of hers, whose name shall go unmentioned, playing with dogs. Yes, playing. Not fighting, or anything like that. I got kinda tired of hearing "Who do you think is going to win?" from people who happened to glance over my shoulder.Now, the funny part of this is that when I say Sly's birthday "wasn't too long ago," I'm actually refering to her birthday that occurred last year. Yep, this birthday present is a year late. Go me for punctuality.
(I'm hoping she likes it enough to let that whole little "late" thing slip by.)
I am planning to colour this... someday. No time soon. I made it so Sly could colour it, herself, y'see.
Oh, those aren't German shepherds, there. Those're American Indian dogs. They're pretty spiffy- and by that I mean that they're really wicked cool.

When I first saw this, my thought was "those dogs are playful". Man some people really don't know how to read animal body language...how do they deal with animals in the first place then??

I usually take it to mean that they just don't have a lot of contact with animals. Or... Well... I dunno. I've always gotten along well with animals, so I don't know.

I guess I always assume that since so many people have dogs they would, you know, be more observant about their animals..but then I've lived out in a more "rural" setting and I like animals so I may have more of a bias in trying to figure them out. *shrugs*

You don't want to know how much time I've spent studying bat wings. You just don't. The distal segment, the propatagium, uropatagium, plagiopatagium and even that awesome tendon that runs from shoulder to wrist.... Yep. Lots of time with my nose in a musty book. And I'm still working out the musculature, 'cause I know I'm not doing it quite right... *sigh* So much to learn and so little time.
(And I thoroughly understand puking as a compliment. So thanks! ^.-.^)

judging on all those big words that i've never heard of in my life, i'd guess you'd been studying quite a bit indeed! well, it's definately paying off. as for the muscluature, well, i couldn't see anything wrong at all. whatever it is you're doing, it appears to me that you're doing it right

The puppies look playful to me - maybe the people looking over your shoulder don't know anything about animal body language. That dog on the far right looks particularly happy. ^_^

- chuckles.- You'll get it. Soon it won't take you as long, like my agnawarriors, they6 only take my 20 minutes to draw and with detail two days, it used to take me months to do it. well, Take care.
