Description I wanted this to look like a centaur on a thumbnail.

The more painting styles processes I try, looking for the one
that would suite me, the more I come to the conclusion that
it doesn't matter. That how the painting will end up looking
depends on WHO paints it, not HOW, because all my paintings
look kind of the same to me. Even tho it's liberating, I was
hoping that finding my process style will make painting easier,
more fun, and I feel almost disappointed.

Looks more like a fairy type riding a stag
Hahaha, yeah, i've read your description but it still looks intriguing
The pose and body textures are so life-like and i do believe that there is a tauropod with the lower body of a deer but from the neck of the lower body springs up a human torso with arms and a head with antlers

I just thought of something... A story about a young buck that for some reason doesn't have antlers in an animalistic society(literally). Where the predators go after the easy deer that have the shortest antlers and this buck doesn't want to die but then he finds a young human boy and the two become fast friends. The boy decides to help out his animal friend by gluing/attaching a pair of antlers that he found in the woods to its head so the predators wouldn't target him!

... Anyway, great picture!

Wow! I'm so flattered my picture inspired you to come up with a story! It might be a decent explanation of what's going on. Thank you so much!

Well, I haven't really made it into a story. It was more just an interesting idea that came to mind... But I might do something with it some day!

It was a trap from the start D8

I like the art anyway.
The back of the deer has something with the colors/hair/shading that I like ovo

This is awesome! I love the idea and it's executed wonderfully!

I feel like I know what you mean about painting style and process. I think maybe in the long run, you'll develop your own process with what you feel is comfortable. But related to what you said, I see a lot of artists try different things that they use when the occasion calls for it, and having it in your repertoire is good!

Thank you you so much! Exactly, this "problem" has its pros and cons. Hopefully until I find my way I'll have variety of skills for all occasions.

This is such a cute painting I love the lighting and pose of the characters - they look so free and excited

Interesting comments about painting style also. I think you are probably right. It's very tempting to acquire the same tools as your favourite artist, to watch their process videos or generally try to copy their prcoess in order to achieve the results they do, when generally it's really THEM that makes their paintings look how they do, only influenced slightly by what programs/brushes/working process/etc they use.

Thank you a lot! Exactly, I see several brilliant artists who switch between methods from piece to piece. I guess it takes a lot of practice to feel comfortable this way.
