nutcracker v/s the mouse kingblack & white - pastel, vine charcoal, conte
final assignment for draaawing studio.
thought it was a good subject matter for the time of the year!
i love the nutcracker ballet.

I've been looking at this for days, weeks even, but haven't wanted to comment until I had time to give something more than an "OMG COOL!"
I'm not familure with the nutcracker (don't kill me!), only know it by name, but my lack of knowledge does not hinder my thought of how amazing this is.
The perspective you've used gives the Mouse King such a powerful, and intimidating aura. The shining, pupil-less eyes have quite a psychotic feel also.
The nutcracker looks so outnumbered, even against just one creature (albeit, a creature with many heads)
You better get top marks for this, or there'll be unpleasantries

This is really nice. We had to do something similar for my Drawing 1 class, but we did White prismacolor colored pencil on black charcoal paper. It end result is fantastic. I used it on my still life, and my teacher loved it.
