Hey what up, viewers, it is I and I'm at it again with another update of the Super Mutant Deathclaw known as, "Specimen 014".
Now I'm gonna jump to the case...I hit a major snag in progression.
When I first started this project, didn't really understand UV transference so I assumed the NIF base mesh wouldn't have the UVs once converted to OBJ. So instead of being UVs conscious,
I went crazy and completely destroyed them. lol
So that means, that it can't line up with the original or modded textures.
Which leads me to two options--as far as I know-- :

Do I do it all the details from scratch; wringing my life away as I foolish attempt to painstakingly replicate the same level of detail that a large group of professionals SOLELY dedicated to designing each aspect of the original Deathclaw for a triple A game...?

Or do I constantly try to retrace the UVs so I can get a decent match?

If you think the most logical answer is the second one, then you are correct. lol
Now I'm not saying the first one is impossible-- I mean just look at the stuff from this site--, all I'm saying is the efforts would far exceed the results; plus the second option will open easier compatibility with other Deathclaw texture mods.

So because of all this; I decided to make this image real clean cause I'll be setting this one back on the back burners till I reach some kind of breakthrough.

That's really what's holding me back on adding more detail (veins, scaly armor, unique scaring, ETC) because no matter how much detail I add, it wont look right in fallout's engine not without proper texturing and shading.

The only there golden scenario is if I can get someone who has expertise in this area to make or shed some light on the situation.
But hey, I'll come up with something.
As always, I hope you all will enjoy this
and I'll see you with the next one

Oh and I revamped the plot section to be clearer and shed a little more details.
once I really get this project moving, I'll make one that really grounds itself to the fallout lore.

Plot:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Deathclaw egg was taken to an institute laboratory in hopes of using the success of Deathclaw formula to unlock the secrets Mutant FEV virus strand. To do so, they needed to expose the Deathclaw embryo to their Virus while it is still in its development so that the added FEV strain will have time to stabilize for later extraction when the subject becomes of age. This theory, however, was far from concrete. Expeditions to the wastelands were taxing to resources and procuring suitable subjects deemed costly to moral and staff. Not to mention results weren't concise and led to countless failure with most perishing while in the embryonic stage. The whole operation was at the brink of being classified as a complete failure until something astonishing happened. After repeated failures and constant reworks of the FEV strain, they've finally had a successful injection. The Deathclaw embryo responded to the virus as projected... perhaps too well. As a protocol, the now hatched infant Deathclaw was classified as "Specimen 014". With constant observation and testing, its skeletal muscles were fully developed in early infancy. In its toddler stage, the FEV began to preforming major improvements in its development and growth; reaching the size full-grown adult with a far more muscular build. Further development, it had tripled its muscle mass and bone structure; becoming hulking than any Deathclaw that the institute has ever studied, all while at its teen stage. The scientists deemed the result as a success; claiming they've concocted the perfect strain of the Forced Evolution Virus. But there was a growing problem that the eager scientists seemed to overlook. There have been increasing reports of institute scientists and staff being harmed and, in some cases, casualties by Specimen 014 either while the physical analyst is taking place or while in feeding protocols. These cases only began to increase and even began to be more methodical as time went on. It reached the point that Specimen 014's rapid growth, growing ferocity, and intelligence, The current Father shut down the project and deemed Specimen 014 a threat to efforts gained in the FEV project and the Institute as a whole. Being at the post-teenager stage and 3 times the size of a normal Deathclaw, Specimen 014 was ejected from the institute and into the commonwealth wasteland before they could perform the DNA extraction. The Deathclaw/Mutant FEV project and all files relating to the project was scrapped and removed from the institute database. As they projected, Specimen 014 not only had supercharged abilities (such as super strength, rapid cellular regeneration, immortality, constant body growth) similar as a super mutant alongside its native abilities, that also includes the super mutant's side effect of being completely sterile. So Specimen 014 Roams the commonwealth. feeding on raiders, gunners and even fellow Deathclaws (Similar to what super mutants), growing stronger and more intelligent as time goes on.

This is looking pretty fantastic! Really looking forward to seeing what you may do with this model in the future, if you continue working on it.

Yees. The thing with UV i think its totally valid... one of the reasons why i like mods like Bodytalk is the same UV usage as EVB so we dont have to wait for people to "convert" textures or make special textures for the body. Rooting for you, cheers!

AY Aranous! Nice to see you again!
Yeah, funny story about that.
I actually made a new variant of the gargoyle MONTHS ago (somewhere last year--I think a little after the last one I posted) but I never posted it because I wanted to finish everything.
BUT then, as I left it on the back burner simmering, I got a new stove! So to speak. lol
When I switched to using the Zbrush, I never brought it over. So now it's still sitting in my old Mudbox folder, collecting cyber dust...Until very recently.
feeling lazy this summer, I decided to start converting all my old stuff to Zbrush for potential reworks.

In conclusion! Yes, if you want, I can post it but I'll be reworking(or redoing) a new one eventually because of newfound skills and tablet.

Glad to hear it!
I'm actually pretty impressed myself on how the render turned out.
I just gotta figure out on how to solve the UV predicament.
