Description Re-do of an old drawing.
After finishing 11 chibis from a collab, I still wanted more -and now Im exhausted so dont ask me to draw chibis for a very long time- and I was never really satisfied with the first version so was already thinking of a re-do since long ago, but then I added Bruno and I had the excuse.
Anyway~

Rita | Falkland Islands | Islas Malvinas
I´ll be sincere and admit I dont know whether or not theres a British way of calling them other than "oh, those islands far far away" , but in South America, or at least Argentina and Uruguay, they´re called "The Austral Pearl".
Like you probably already grasped, "pearl" refers to something especial and very praised, and the islands receive this attention due to their geographical location. An strategical point to cross the Beagle Channel , have access to the Antartide , and also to Victoria Islands, still far away from Africa. Not to mention, the South Georgias and Sandwichs Islands, which are part of her territory between, are strategical fishing locations.
Those were the reasons the British took them, it wasnt only a revenge from Argentines, fair to say.

  Laura | Uruguay
This came during the beginnings of XX century, on Uruguays golden years of leather, wool, and meat exportations, aside from the fluorification of their food industries , their milk and cheese brands becoming a great success ( make me and Uruguayans a favour and try their milk, best-milk-ever ). This, the wise economical administration and the landscape similarities, gave Uruguay a well-deserved comparison with Europes most prosperous country, Switzerland.

  Yoanna | Paraguay
It is not only due to its geographical location ( center of South America, well, a bit at the right as well or should I say West? ).
It also comes from the great biodiversity, third after Colombia and Brazil, plus the enormous respect Paraguayans have towards Nature and how integrated they are with it, and the very characteristic that distinguish Paraguayans themselves, their hospitality and sincere kindness with foreigners and among each other, "sharing their heart".

  Facundo | Provinciano
On the last pick I had called him "The End of the World". Dont get me wrong, it wasnt a mistake, Argentina is indeed known as the End of the World on many countries worldwide and usually referred as that on general media, but between Argentines ( and angry Chileans ) we think that its more accurate to Tierra del Fuego ( Ushuaia ) than anything else.
"Barn of the World": No matter where in the world you come from, when you think of Argentina you think of cows and beef, and the thing is, the Pampas region has the most fertile lands on the Whole world. During the end of the XIX and half of the XX century we exploded that fertility to the maximum, and became Worlds 1st grain exporter. We had a serious fall of production during the second half of past century due to political and economic reasons, but in the past years its has slowly resurfaced despite Kirchners sanctions, and with the new government and sanctions removed, producers are exploiting that fertility to the maximum once again, what is pointing worlds eyes into our direction. Expect the media to be calling us "Barn of the World" very soon.  The giant is awaking.

  Mario| Porteño
No, it is not a matter of Ego. Buenos Aires title of "Queen of the Plata " ( "King" in this case ) is well deserved.
After invading the seemingly undefeatable Argentine Confederation , on XIX Century, Buenos Aires became the economical centre of Argentina, not only fully managing the mayor fount of richness , the port ( from there the word "porteños" by the way, "people from the port") and its taxes to exportations , but also because it has progressed 10 times what the Arg.Confederation had. Investors from all Europe came in mass to exploit the control Buenos Aires had over the Pampas, already known for their fertility, but also on the Andes minerals. Buenos Aires became the richest region on Latin America after Brazil´s Rio, and its power consolidated during and after the Triple Alliance War, after being able to trick England into switching sides ( what stopped their weapon and food sellings to Paraguay and thus changing the course of the war ) and later successfully negotiating Paraguays freedom from Brasil. He became a latin american "titan", keeping full control of the Rio de la Plata area, the territories that used to belong to the Virroyalty of the same name. Later on the XX century and still today, despite the complains of Paraguay, Uruguay and the rest of Argentina, Porteños kept their influence on each of their governments, to the point it has always been impossible to go against their desires, often forcing them to negotiate and accept treaties with Buenos Aires to achieve something, even if those deals meant more harm than good at the end.

  Bruno | Brazil
When you think of Brazil, a couple things come into your mind immediately.
Lively people, fresh air, amazing beaches, football, amazing women and handsome men, but also...the Amazonas, the biggest rainforest of the World, the literal filter of all the shit we throw into the air every year. The Amazonas filters that and purifies our air, keeping the Earth alive. Without it, the Earth ( and us ) would have already died long ago from all the pollution we´re responsible for.  Thanks to the Amazonia you and I are breathing today, just like the whole world is.
But the Amazonia is not the only rainforest on Brazil, or at least, it used. It used to compete in national importance with the Iguazu rainforests and those around Rio and Brasilia, until the last suffered intense deforestations ( that Brazilians still deeply regret by the way ).  But Brazilians are not the only ones to blame, so is Europe, whose wood industries have filled European homes with furniture made of wood from Brasil ( "Brasil" itself being a tree ). Europeans also realized how foolish they were when their beloved Brazilian amazing furniture stopped being produced, and with their tears and later the effects of World Warning the world finally understood how important Brazils rainforests ( and whole landscape over all ) are.
Thanks to Brazils territory we´re alive. Its our "lungs".
