Description Eirik the Red was exiled from his homeland, Norway, for killing some people. He then fled to Iceland, but in 982 he was once again exiled for a couple of murders. He couldn't return to Norway, obviously, so he went 500 miles north and west, to Greenland. He explored the island until he found a habitable place, and gave it the rather misleading name to get others to want to move there.

I agree both of the above ^_^ Nice detail on the guy, love how you did the folds in his garment. The wood on the boat looks good too. As for the clouds, you could also try the rubbing out technique, as in shade the whole sky then rub out the clouds, just to see how that would turn out.

Thanks.

Yeah, I've thought about trying that. I guess my next drawing will feature rubbed-out clouds.

I read his story in one of my books, it's a quite nice story The character himself is really nicely done, again great[er] work on the detail! And I agree about the bearpelt with jhryciuk -- maybe his fingers are put a little odd also, but I'm not sure. Anyways, it's a great drawing.

The background is a great improvement, and Eirik looks great. You're getting there with the clouds, but I think perhaps they should blend into the sky a little more seamlessy. I can't really explain what I mean, but if you look at the clouds in the sky, it's extremely hard to define edges. Aside from that, maybe fix the pelt that he has draped over his shoulders. I assume it is a bear pelt or something, but it looks more like leaves.

Thanks.

The pelt was an experiment of sorts... I personally like how it turned out.
