While doing this one, I realized that Japan has catfish that look a bit different than we do. This is a nice big catfish a lot like what you would find in midwestern creeks or rivers. But the catfish I usually see depicted as native to Japan have a near body-length ventral fin. This image was supposed to be while he's in the US, but during that time, he doesn't have the face stripes, so this image is wrong for that small detail. For the book, I will change that.In Dogs of War, he gains those stripes after he goes back to his own time. There's a reason for it, but I don't want to tell you guys *everything*......

personally i don't think he'd have a problem eating it raw....maybe its a human thing

I think he'd eat it raw too. Fires are bothersome and time-consuming, plus they let your enemies know where you are in a forest. He does like cooked food better, but raw is okay.

I do have some rather pretty Sesshomaru's in the works....
I have a nice one of him sleeping, and the camera view is from right beside him...as if the viewer woke up next to him.

Somehow this makes Inuyasha look very slow

Slow? Hmm. If he went fishing, I would have thought that he would have far more luck swatting them out of the water like a bear than he would if he had to find the patience to sit on a bank with a fishing rod and hook.
With those claws, a fish would be easy to swat out of the water without them slipping out of his hands.
The written story, Dogs of War, is not out yet. I want to have the majority of it written before I release it, since I want the story to be cohesive and hold together seamlessly. I hope to release the complete Part One, later this summer. The illos are just an advance look, and a chance to explore some of the story concepts....

To the movement of InuY. : I think you should
have drawn the moment before he hit the fish,
but somehow this picture clearly looks like he is missing the fish maybe it is just the perspective
To your "book" : I'm really looking forward your
release of the story, the pictures are already
GREAT and the preview stories which you're writing under the pics give a good chance to
think about the main story which isn't released yet

Hmmm. I looked closely at the image again, and I see that part of the problem is that when I converted this from a pencil sketch to a digital file, I ran up the contrast. That dropped out a lot of detail that might have helped. If time is kind someday, I will rescan this one, and see if I can bring up more of the detail. Even if I do, there might be more I can do with the pose that might fix things. Thanks for your input! I really do want to improve how I do things and kind criticism goes a long way!

Some interesting thoughts. InuYasha really had to learn to fend for himself at an early age. 
To be an artist, it seems one has to really know a lot about everything! Whether it is the correct looking catfish for Japan or not, you catfish gets the point of the scene across.
