I REALLY have to indulge in quick sketches like this more! I can see some gems in this mess of sketches done over the past couple of days.

All I did was start with a good size blank space and then just started filling it while watching TV, letting what I was watching inspire me to make more doodles. I tried to keep it loose and spontaneous, without getting really slowed down on exactness of line or form. The emphasis was mainly on capturing an idea or concept as quickly as possible. It's a valuable skill, since ideas pop into my head almost too fast for me to fully see. Plus, drawing fast is EXTREMELY valuable if I want my skills to be sale-able in the marketplace. No publisher will tolerate lateness.

I'd like to someday be able to take simple commissions again, but I have to feel confident that I can do it in a timely manner. The way I used to do it was I'd take the commission with the stipulation that if the commissioner was patient, they'd get a prettier image. Therefore, I didn't do commissions on deadlines. That was nice for me, but it made me lazy about getting my docket cleared for new projects, and doing new stuff is what keeps me interested. So, I'm going to try to speed things up so that I can move more art through. After all, I have a LOT going on in my head that needs to be recorded!
