Description I started a 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign called After A Thousand Ages. Myself and all the players are all professional artists, so we started a collective blog for the art we make of our adventures.

This will probably be a main villain in the campaign, but he hasn't played a big role yet, so I'm going to be a bit vague about him for now.

***

He was not supposed to be the first. The Reviver was supposed to be the first to reawaken, in whatever age this now was, and use his expertise to set the final plan in motion. When Baalduhm awoke he saw not the face of his old friend but the face of some simpering nobody, some anonymous journeyman necromancer whose ambition far superseded his skill. How he would brag and crow to other members of his order or cult or however such people organized themselves in this age, that he was the one to finally resurrect The Harvester. Such pretense, such arrogance, such impropriety! It disgusted Baalduhm. Weakened though he was by his half-botched resurrection at the hands of this imbecile, he found that he was still more than powerful enough. His first act of his second life was to kill the fool that brought him back.

I really like the design of his garb! You guys must be having a lot of fun doing a campaign among such a strong art team! ^_^

Oh wow, that scythe looks like it's been forged from a single massive chunk of meteroic iron. Β Imbued with the eldritch spiritual energies of the Frigid Gods of Outer Darkness, no doubt! Β His armor has the same quality, to me--like it was hammered through sheer brute force from a solid mass of raw metal. Β I'm getting an organic, almost beetle-y vibe from those bulbous segmented plates!

This might be totally irrelevant, but I love the way you always drop a color swatch behind your figures to set the mood and tone, presumably to establish value and color palette as well...? Β It always gives these "portraits" a very environmental feel, even when there isn't an actual environment!

With a nose like that, I wouldn't trust him. And his shoes are ridiculous.

Try to use your charisma to mock him, see if you can make him cry.

"Is this what has become of the strength of mortals? Do you think a few strident words of mockery will give me pause? The final plan will be carried out, and I am its executor! I have the weight of a thousand ages at my back, and you will crumble before me! Tremble and dispair!

"...do you really think they're ridiculous? "
