Description Just something I did to decrate my workspace in Uni. Better than just painting it white, A?

Done using acrylic paint, its about 5-6 feet high, 2 feet wide. Really enjoyed painting it Oh the joys of traditional painting

Very nice. The only flaw is that the Na'vi have vivid green eyes, not...brown.

i LOVE looking at paintings! when it comes to photos of actual paintings, i would REALLY love to see them up close! they are SO much prettier and i don't doubt this one! OMG I LOVE HOW YOU PUT SO MUCH EXPRESSION INTO THEIR EYES!

do you look at it every day?

Haha, everyday Im in uni anyway, and its quite motivating to look at it and think of what else I could paint or draw And with something like this the eye was essential to get right, since its just half a view of a face.

ya, i agree. i would LOVE to have stuff like that on my walls! it is very beautiful and expressive...and inspiring!

lol when i draw i take out some of my successful sketches or pics and amire it before i begin drawing something else

Hehe, Uni = University

Yeah I know what you mean, 3/4 of the time I spend doing the art, the other 1/4 is just staring at the work and admiring it

If the game comes out first, won't that spoil the movie? XD

mad-dragon249 In reply to CorbieLaughter [2009-11-26 23:34:19 +0000 UTC]

Nope, unlike most movie tie in games this one is actually trying to be a decent game in its own right. Most of the movie games just focus loosly on the movie and end up being a total mess and shamble of a game.

But Avata the game is set 2 years before the events of the film, following your own character through the first contact between the human marines and the Na'vi, with you having to choose 2 paths through the game, siding with the humans trying to exterminate the Na'vi or side with the Na'vi and fight back in defense.

It actually looks like a decent game, and since you get to play as a Na'vi aswell im really psyched to get it

But up close it looks ever so nice, you can see every single brush stroke, and it all adds up.

That is ought to spice your workplace nicely!

Beautiful work! really amazing!!! OÂŽO and large scale too! I'd love to see this! I bet it's size is quite impressive! So what are you specialising in? Painting? sculpture???I presume painting? or is it still core work?

mad-dragon249 In reply to Studio-Gemblee [2009-11-23 19:10:49 +0000 UTC]

Hehe thank you there should be a pic of my workspace in ym scraps, you can sorta get a sense of the scale from it.

Yeah I'll be working with painting and drawing, drawing for the small stuff and paints for the big stuff like this

Very impressive work on this, you are very talented with Acrylic. I still need to work out how to colour properly Love the work on the eyes and the toning on the facial structure looks awesome you can see the different levels of the face

👍: 0 âĐ: 1

mad-dragon249 In reply to MangaManiacNatNeko [2009-11-23 18:59:00 +0000 UTC]

Hey thx man Appreciate it. Give me some ACrylic paint and I can do some decent stuff, but give me Oil paint, now thats a different matter, hate the stuff lol

Working with colour aint so bad once you get to notice a few things. Like with this piece it wasnt about added colour to a sketch or lines, but using it to build the entire structure of the face. And theres more than just using light blue and dark blue to it. When you take a good look at something theres plenty of colours that you'd never have thought were there, like in this piece theres a few dashes of green, turquise and even grayish colours in the light parts

MangaManiacNatNeko In reply to mad-dragon249 [2009-11-24 23:26:44 +0000 UTC]

No problemo at all. Well you have some seriously sick skills with Acrylics. Ahhh never used Oil paints myself but I shall trust you on there hard useablitly XD

I am finding quite hard but then I could just be being my own hardest critique and all that. Yeah I can see that really well its just working out how to do it yourself which is the hard part Ahhh that is really awesome some of those I hadn't seen in there.
