Description
Now for a character planning sheet where I'm not mostly sure on what costume or design to go with. And this time we have the female protagonist and travelling companion of the other guy. She doesn't currently have a name, so feel free to toss out some suggestions (Would save me an hour or two ehehehheeeeeeeh I'm sorry). She's relatively the opposite of Lucas. Optimistic, Elegant and generally more polite and sociable than her gruff compatriot.
The idea behind her costumes is "Still relatively practical, but at the same time still a bit fancy-ish". Β The first one seems to be the most practical/combat styled in my opinion. Especially the ninja styled scarf. The second is quite casual and looks to be the most realistic one out of the three. Though its not too visually interesting if I do say so myself, though I'm sure others will have different opinions. The last one seems to be the most feminine out of the three. While it does fufill the idea of her being elegant, its not exactly the most practical one out of three either. Like with Lucas' costume choices, I could always just cycle between them.
I'm not quite sure what hairstyle or colour to go with. For hairstyles, there's either Wavy Long, Straight Long or Braided ponytail. I kinda like all of the styles, so I'm not sure which to pick at the moment. There's also the case of hair colour. Her costume colour is mostly blue, so blue hair was my first choice. However, her colour scheme also includes traces of gold, so Blonde hair would help create more of a balance between Blue and Yellow/Gold
Her "weapon" is her Arcane gloves (Not the final name for them but I needed a place holder until I come up with something clever). Basically in this world, magic does exist, but less as an inexhaustible source of energy of spiritual origin and is more of a naturally occurring element that can be exhausted and used as fuel. The blue gem in the glove is a solid ball of mana, which is used to fuel the use of spells and rune out of the glove. The style of magic this particular girl has is mostly dedicated to defensive shield runes and slight telekinetic power over non-organic matter (Basically anything that isn't alive can be moved)
She's still got quite a lot of development to go before she is a full character, but hey at least I'm making some progress eh? xD

The outfit designs are really top notch and I honestly can choose between the three due to the practicality of each one - the first serving as battle wear, the second as causal, and the third as formal and special occasions - but with her fighting style in particular, you could have her keep all three and use magic to switch them out, like re-quip magic from the Fairy Tail series,
Hair style wise you can go with either color - making it blond to have her stand out more or blue for a more subtle impact, but it'd be nice to dye some random strands in her hair opposite color (i.e. blonde hair with blue strands or blue hair with blonde strands) this way if you do choose to braid it, it can have those strands decorating the braid; as for the styles themselves you could have the same way you have the outfits and set them for what would suit the situation best; or just whatever she's in the mood for that day.
For the "Arcane Gloves" you could consider having the ball of mana inside change color (Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red and Grey) each color serving as how much fuel she has left for spells.

To me, the dark blue hair does remind me of Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening with one of the costumes. I'll go with a blue-yellow mix of hair with straight long.

Oh and I do like the jacket one. For the name... Reshira or... Liliana; Levi for short.

I like the second outfit, those boots are cute by the way, and the blonde hair and braid. as for a name, when I saw the character, my first thought was Freya. I hope I could be of some help. On another note, is the story on here or FF.net?

Well the story technically doesn't exist yet, but when I finish plotting and writing it down, its gonna be a web comic on here and maybe anywhere else I can spread it to.

From my experience, wavy long hair is more fun to draw. You can always braid it or unbraid it as youΒ need, of course. (Having long hair, I braid mine regularly to keep it out of the way, especially at night) I think black/blue would be nicest.
I'd personally prefer outfit#2 if I were in combat, but #3 is really pretty.

I prefer the blond wavy hair but if she's going to be very active i'd go with the braid as it's more practical. Outfit wise i like 2 and 3, but girls change their clothes a lot so whatever you prefer is fine. Some possible names: Clara, Clair, Layla, Mira. I like those names and the sound elegant to me.

I have to agree with FuryouMiko about the braided hair being the most practical. The third design for her clothes looks a bit overdressed to me, but maybe it would be okay in some scenes? I personally really like the first design with the braided blonde hair.
The detail on the fingers of the gloves looks cool. Maybe the lines could continue on to touch the mana ball on the back of her hand, or somehow connect in her palm? This probably depends on how the gloves actually work, so it could be fine like it is.

Oh, I really like that first outfit (all of them are pretty good, though)! I also really like her with blonde hair; I personally think that if you go with blue, it will be a little too monochromatic. Plus, as you said, it does add a nice balance between blue and gold.
As for names... She kinda looks like a Melanie to me. Sorry, that's all I got for now. XP
Anyway, I really love what your doing with these designs. All the clothes look cool, and I especially love this chick's Arcane gloves; those golden patterns on them are a brilliant touch. Can't wait to see where you go with this stuff, Mad!

If she's an action girl, one of the braided hairstyles makes a lot more sense. Long hair is an absolute bitch to cope with doing normal household chores, let alone while fighting.
I like the rightmost outfit best, but as you say, impractical. How about she wears that with her hair down if she's somewhere she can relax, then switches to the leftmost outfit with a braid when she's travelling or adventuring?
