This was another one of those "Eureka!" moments, except one that lasted for like a week.
The character is named Ivonry (or Ivy) and I used to love that name, but not so much anymore, so I might be changing it. But anyway. She's based off an evil DnD character a friend of mine made, this adorable little blonde girl with rosy cheeks and BLACK armor and a soul that's blacker, and a gleeful love for her work.^^ But I can't tell that friend about this because I completely bastardized the character by making her nuetral! (except, some friends of mine look at this gallery, so she'll probably see it anyway.)
Okay, yeah, her armor is built INCORRECTLY, I can see that now, and her pose is WEAK, but these are all things I brought on myself by not finishing the sketch before diving into color.
Lesson learned, yo.^^The armor texture really is the best thing about this, and a complete fluke! with a magical little combination of filters in Photoshop I discovered in the course of this. I'll make a tutorial, cuz it was just too cool and so easy it has to be a sin and everybody should try it!
But yeah, this was another attempt at something to put in my portfolio, and I think I accomplished it for once! *gasp*
Done entirely in photoshop yay!!! In about two weeks, and that's sad.>_< booo.
Btw, the thing on her breast plate is a "rampant manticore"

*lol* Well, at this point, I almost want to tell you to wait to see if they clear this mess up.>_< Cuz, you know Zuko does this horrible character choice now, so you won't be able to appreciate the awesome character he is (or was), but if in the next episode one of teh crazy theories comes true, then it'll be like OH SNAP. Hehe, you should watch season one, but don't watch season two until three has started and you know what happens.
That's what I'm hoping will happen, that Zuko is with the gaang, maybe sees his mom in a crowd when they stop at a village or something, loses sight of her, and the gaang's all like, "We'll help you find her!" Cuz that's so fluffy sweet!

>_< Even if they don't fix this, you should still watch it though. There are other fantastic things about it besides Zuko. *struggles to remember them* Oh, Sokka! Sokka's great. So's Toph. Gah, all the main characters are great! But they would have gotten so much better, it would have been nuts, if they had gotten Zuko in the group to play off of.
I despise lame endings. A writer once told me that, when you get an idea, if you don't figure out a great ending for it immediately, let it go. I think it's cruel getting people involved with a good story if you have no intention of giving them closure. *rubs forehead* I can't believe it's four days later and I'm still this upset about it...

True, a bad ending can ruin the entire thing. You can go ahead and work with a story where you have no planned ending if you don't intend to show it to people.

Yes.;_; WHY GOD?!?! I mean, then they go about replacing him with these two other random kids I cou;dn't give a flying f*** about... Man, Ryuuzaki is a character who can never, and SHOULD never, get replaced, certainly not in a story that he could make so much better for the last 5 volumes it has... This thing spawned another huge journal rant on writing that I haven't got the heart to post.>_<

Seriously.>_< Yeah, if there had been just one instead of the two fighting for screen time, it would have been a lot better since we could have gotten to know him more, and maybe even give a crap about him. What pissed me off the most was the fact that nobody mourned for Ryuuzaki.;_; Raito screamed a bt, but he was faking, and Mello seemed freaked out, but more because he wouldn't be around to pick between him and Near. XP If you're gonna kill off such an awesome guy, somebody has got to mourn, dammit! I was left with the feeling that the writers never wanted me to like, root for, or identify with Ryuuzaki, and that's just wrong.

i know it totally suks and they better make him come to his senses and get his ass back on track. I read your theory on your profile and i agree with you cuz at the end when hes standing next to Azula, he looks like hes cooking up a big plot to kick Azula out of her little 'im gonna rule the world' dream so i hope hes really just faking it. ja, glad you listened to me and share my opinion cuz all my friends are tired of hearing 'i cant believe Zuko' and 'Zuko's and idiot' cuz they dont watch it so yeah

Please get that tutorial. I am still learning the pleasures of photoshop so I have yet to experiment with the filters. (Mind you, that armour and my style are a bit of a mismatch. Oh well. I'll try)
Anyway, I love the colouring! The hair looks gorgeous and I heart the background. And the shadowing! (My shadows look like smudges of dirt on a face. -_-)
